Biker Safety – Head to Tow

It is a dangerous time for bikers on the road. Drivers don’t pay too much attention to biker safety and it can cause many biker injuries because of careless drivers. There are quite a few other hazards for motorcycle riders though, but with the right gear, you can help to avoid any potential accidents and promote your own biker safety.

  1. A Rain Suit

A rain suit will definitely make a difference if the weather is against you. You can get them in a wide variety of colors to help you stick out while riding, which will help drivers avoid hitting you. They’re pretty cheap but really help.

  1. Riding Boots

If you’re riding for a long time, you’ll want boots which are both comfortable for riding and walking. Plus, you want boots which will help protect your feet and legs if you get in an accident.

  1. Windshield

You’ll really appreciate this obvious accessory. It’ll keep bugs off your visor and help block the wind or keep rain off of you if you are cruising at higher speeds.

  1. Storage Bag

Whether you choose a backpack or attach bags to your bike, you need a place to store your stuff while you’re riding. While bright colors may not look as nice, you’ll be thankful for the color if you lose it and have to look for it.

  1. Tinted or Clear Visor

When you’re riding during the day, the sun seems to shine directly in your eye. You can get a visor which adjusts to light to keep your visibility the best it can be. A biker who can’t see is a dangerous biker!

  1. Balaclava

A face make or balaclava will keep your neck and face warm when the weather is cold and it will help keep sweat off when the sun is hot. Of course, it’ll also help keep dirt, bugs, and the sun from getting on your neck.

  1. Microfiber Towels or Rags

It’s a good idea to keep a towel or two in your bag to wipe off your visor, windshield, or seat if it has been raining or has gotten dirty.
